The professors do their best to not, well, to not disparage its use. we have a holistic club on campus and they try to have talks and stuff. for me, personally, i have worked with some vets who did acupuncture and prescribed lots of chinese herbs and stuff. and while i feel very strongly that herbs and supplements should be regulated just like (its honestly never gonna happen) i think the theory behind it is ok. and i have seen dogs walk after spinal injuries after acupuncture sessions (was that all the physical therapy? was the dog 'spinal walking' or was it the acupuncture? thats for another soapbox day) but for me personally, homeopathy doesnt really make sense. from what i understand (and i could be understanding this wrong too!) you take a substance and dilute it and dilute it and dilute it until you can no longer detect said substance in your solution. and this is what you take, with the idea being you take a little bit of something bad and then your body somehow knows to make yourself better or something like that? to me, diluting something down until the substance of interest is no longer detectable and then CHARGING people money for it seems, oh, i dunno, unethical? but thats just my opinion.
