Most important to me is to have some great friends around me. If I meet someone I have romantic chemistry with, that's even better! I like to have fun, be silly, and laugh like crazy. I also have a very serious side to me that people tend to see when I talk about work. . .it comes with the job. I can't say I'm femme or tomboi, because if you see me when I go out you'd say I'm femme. Yet, if you see me in the garden, you'd think tomboi. I've found I can usually adapt to wherever I am or whoever I'm around, so it's really what's comfortable and desired at any given moment. I am relatively fit, though.
Friend or partner, I have some absolute standards. As for hanging out with friends, I like to do almost anything. I'm an outdoor girl and very adventurous, but I don't mind the regular stuff, too. I garden, hike, backpack, jog, go to the gym, shop, hang out at the coffee shops, like to go out for drinks/dinner/movies/shows, travel frequently, and ski and snowboard (or at least try to). In Hawaii, I also surf, kayak, spearfish, and snorkel. If I don't do it and haven't tried it, I've probably wanted to try it. I like doing lots of things, so whatever fun stuff you're into is probably good with me.
When it comes to a relationship, I have some absolute musts and must nots -- sorry. My partner must not smoke or do drugs. Alcohol is ok as long as it's not ridiculously excessive. And sorry, but I'm not attracted to butches or BBW. She absolutely must be willing to move to Hawaii, because that's my home, and I intend to return in another year or two. Another really important thing is she has to want children as I intend to have one or two (or more if it works out that way). Any potential partner must be emotionally stable. I know sometimes it's hard to control our emotions, but I'm not interested in anyone that has outbursts, fits of jealousy, or plays games. This shouldn't have to be mentioned, but monogamy is an absolute MUST! Ok, enough of being so rigid.
My ideal partner would be an educated, femme, outdoorsy, adventurous nature girl who is close to my age. I know that's pretty specific, but it's my ideal. There's lots of room for compromise as long as there is chemistry. I recently traveled alone to the jungle of Central America. . .it would be nice to have someone who wanted to travel with me or would at least be ok with me going places like that. I'm interested in the usual places like Paris and Rome, but I dream of going places like Morocco and Zimbabwe. I have two dogs that are pretty old. I'm an animal lover and intend to always have either a dog or a cat, so I hope to find someone that at the very least can tolerate animals.
